Testimonial:
Contributing to Biomedical Engineering Senior Design has proved to be a valuable return on investment for Applied Technologies. Aside from the long term goal of helping to prepare students to be meaningful contributors to the biomedical industry, our company has experienced many shorter term benefits.
There is a definite benefit to the fresh and youthful thinking the students bring to our fairly mature engineering organization (average length of ATI's senior engineers being 40 years). Providing guest lectures and advising team members on their projects has motivated our staff to refresh and refine our own engineering knowledge and presentation materials.
Working with BME Senior Design students has shown them to be well trained and capable. Our close association with the students has helped us to critique them as potential future ATI employees. In fact, we hired one such student from the BME graduating class of 2008 who has proved to be a strong asset to our company.
Thank you again for the opportunity to participate in the program. I hope that our investment into the students provides them a level of benefit that to some small extent approaches what we have received in return.
