About Dr. Jack O'Daly:

The Administrative Director of Research is the lead professional in the Joint Department’s research administrative enterprise. Dr. O’Daly: administers the overall program from both pre-award and post-award administration; serves as the senior professional with a primary focus on relationships with major sponsor; oversees the financial stewardship of funded projects for the Joint Department; identifies and develops departmental procedures to bridge the NCSU College of Engineering and the UNC School of Medicine institutional rules and regulations and determines strategies for constituency-based facilitation to maximize the research and contract portfolio of approximately $1M per year and oversees the administrative review and submission of proposals and solicitations of approximately $10M per year; administers the research reporting function of the Joint Department on both campuses; will be actively involved in writing technical content of proposals and assisting faculty in proposal writing and editing as requested; will be expected to identify large multidisciplinary grant opportunities, participate in assembling teams, develop timelines and benchmarks, and coordinate proposal development.
